How to Laser Engrave a Child's Fleece Jacket

We used a 75-watt Fusion M2 with the following settings:

Speed: 100% // Power: 15% // DPI: 300 // Dithering: Jarvis

Open the file and adjust the print settings according to your system's wattage. Choose Center Engraving in the driver, Jarvis and the dithering pattern, and send the job to the laser.

Fleece Engraving Tip! You'll notice we designed the graphics with an 80% gray fill, which has the effect of separating out the dots while engraving, removing less fabric!

Insert a flat and rigid object inside the jacket, such as a piece of cardboard or acrylic. This ensures the material stays flat and level. Place the jacket in the laser and measure to find the center of your engraving area. Using the Red Dot pointer, locate the center and set as the Home Position. Press go!

Generally speaking, when engraving fabrics, we recommend reducing the DPI to 300 or lower. Doing this helps prevent scorching and burning entirely through the material. Additionally, we recommend starting at a high speed (90 - 100%) and low power (10 - 20%), and adjust based on your results. The speed and efficiency of the laser allows you to process your own fabric inventory quickly and easily!

Job Preview Tip! To preview the engraving area, set up a vector box around the outside of the graphic and print it to the laser in vector mode. Leave the door open when you run the job so the laser won't fire and use the Red Dot Pointer to see exactly where the engraving is going to appear on your fleece!
